The Art of Giving Gratitude

 

November is a time to give thanks for the things that we are grateful for in our lives. When we receive abundance within the wheel of the year, we offer our gratitude by sharing our bounty. To strip away food security from the most vulnerable at this time, particularly children and the elderly, is a diabolical act against all humanity. But what was meant to ignite outrage and riots has instead empowered us to evoke the Giving Spirit!

I am so touched by our fellow Earth men and women who have stepped up to choose love over hate. I have seen the uprising within a growing cheritable movement happening across our nation, one where folks are stepping up to help their communities by offering neighborhood food pantries and other means of support to ensure that no one goes hungry. We are making it clear that we will hold each other up during hard times, and that the greed of the few is not in the hearts of the many. Check up on your neighbors. No one should go hungry when there are individuals among us who have billions.

I encourage all of us to be mindful of how and where we choose to spend our money this holiday season. I have long been a supporter of the Buy Nothing Day movement, and like this, we have the power to let corporations know we mean business, too. Choose to support businesses that put people over profit. Local small businesses need our support and patronage much more than Amazon or Walmart. Boycott companies and brands that don’t align with your morals or values. We need to make it clear that corporate greed doesn’t align with our human evolution, and we must stop supporting a system that does not consider the health, happiness, and general well-being of all. We have the power to make a difference just by supporting each other, and stop
