A New Tree Frog Farm Essence Coming Soon!

This summer, a brand-new essence was made from a stunning Peach Hollyhock volunteer growing in our home garden. We live less than a mile down the road from Tree Frog Farm, and over the years, John (previous co-owner of TFF Essences and owner of the home and property where TFF operates) has given us plants that he needed to thin out in the flower gardens to plant at home. The Hollyhock that emerged in my garden hybridized from the different varieties of Hollyhock at TFF into a giant Peach Hollyhock with 12-15 flowering stalks all growing from one base. This beauty was seed that most likely hitched a ride over with a bushel of Sundrop Evening Primrose or Day Lily a few years back. What was interesting to me (but now makes sense!) is that this Hollyhock emerged in the same location where the Calendula flower essence was remade last summer. During this year’s Peach Hollyhock essence-making process, I became aware of the existence of a direct portal created between my home garden and the Labyrinth garden at Tree Frog Farm, which was opened for the Deva of Tree Frog Farm to join me while remaking the Calendula essence.

This essence offers powerful healing in our present timeline for our human condition and evolution, and I believe it will be especially potent for those who have a nerodivergence due to early life trauma, but is meant for all Earth beings. I am excited to share it with the world soon!

Our Unique Flower Essence Making Methods Explained

There are many more flower essence producers worldwide now than when Diana and John first began Tree Frog Farm 25 years ago. What makes Tree Frog Farm Essences different from other essence producers that set us apart?

Three main ways make our essence-producing products differ from others.

The process that many flower essence companies use today is what we term the bowl method, ot the traditional method. To make a flower essence traditionally, you would carefully select flowers from a plant that are in their prime, cut the buds off the plant – being careful not to touch them with your hands to avoid tainting the essence with your own energy signature, then floating the flower buds on pure water in a clear glass or crystal bowl and leaving them to bask in the direct sun for about 5 hours. We use a ‘no-pick’ method, or the direct download method, that Diana Pepper discovered early on in her first years as a flower essence producer. This is the same method we use here at Tree Frog Farm today.

1) The Direct Download Method for Making Flower and Tree Essences

Making an essence using the direct download method is a lot like turning the dial to the frequency emitting the clearest transmission of the particular radio station. We start by initiating with our intention to attune to, or “dial-up”, the frequency of the specific plant spirit and inviting it to download into the mother bottles by way of the Sun, which is like the antenna that receives the transmission. The more clearly your radio antenna (the sun) is aligned with that frequency (from the plant), the clearer the transmission (the message we receive). What is received is like a tone or a single note. This is the unique frequency of that particular flower’s essence. Using this process allows us to make flower essences from fragile or endangered wildflowers, such as orchids like Epipactis or Spotted Coral Root, without harming them. Without this method, it would be quite challenging to make a flower essence from an otherwise toxic flower like Foxglove, for example, or any of our tree essences.

2) The Use of Crystals and Gemstones in Our Process

Gem essences are becoming more available these days because of the number of producers making them. Although we don’t make Gem essences, we do use crystals and gemstones in our process. Each flower or tree essence we make is enhanced by the quality of the crystals and gemstones used. They help to define the energetic boundary of the essence-making process. The ones used are selected by intuition and seeking guidance on which are best suited for the particular essence we are making before the essence-making day. We also use these crystals to energetically charge each of our essence blends in a grid for 1 hour. As far as we know, no other flower essence producer does this.

3) Our Red Shiso Base Alternative to the Traditional Brandy Alcohol Base

We offer two base options for our flower essences: shiso and brandy. Our red shiso/vinegar base came to be while searching for an alcohol-free base alternative for clients who couldn’t take essences in an alcohol base. Diana asked another flower essence friend what she used as a base, and this is how she discovered that red shiso tea could be an effective base when used along with distilled white vinegar for maintaining the vibrational quality of our essences with at least a 2-year shelf life. We grow our shiso crop right here at Tree Frog Farm. The vibrational quality of our essences is in harmony with the red shiso used to make this base. We make all our shiso infusions in small, numbered batches, hand-selecting only the highest quality dried leaves from our yearly crops. All of these methods combined are what make our essences unique among other essence producers in the Pacific Northwest and worldwide. We like to make our essences mostly from native plants and trees of our region, which in and of itself is unique to our industry!
