Fall is here. Trees are shedding their leaves and I’m delighting in the beautiful patterns of red, orange, yellow and lime green that the fairies have painted on them. Winter squashes and storage beans are ripening in the garden as an abundance of other vegetables are being harvested. Soon the garden will be dying back. The plant material that isn’t edible will be composted to enrich next year’s garden soils. It is a time of loss, letting go and the potential for new growth as we experience the ebb and flow of life.
Joyfully Engaging Life and Loss
Personally, I’m experiencing even more rapid spiritual expansion while needing to incorporate more grounded action into our business practices. And in addition to being the “mom” of an elder dog and an elder cat, I’m also now the “mom” of a rambunctious six-month-old Golden Retriever puppy. I only had 2 days to make this shift! Tuesday Smokey, elder dog, asked for another dog to train. Wednesday a friend told me she had found this puppy on Monday. Thursday Aspen, puppy, came to live with us. With all of this happening at once, chaos broke loose, shaking up my familiar self-image. All of the fun and wildly abundant potential are tinged with grief as I am letting go of long held beliefs and ways of being. Metal Element (Air): Fall
