Letting Go of Grief
The leaves of deciduous trees and bushes are turning colors and creating a colorful carpet on the ground. Most of the garden harvest is in, dying squash vines have been pulled to add to next year’s compost, and cover crops or mulch now dot the bare soils. It is a time for letting go. Lately I’ve found myself feeling a lot of grief. Some of it I have an experience, a story to attach to it. Other times, it seems pervasive, coming in through the air. Also, my sinuses are slightly congested with the change in weather. Last night’s low dipped to 46 degrees F (about 7 C).

Lady’s Mantle Flower Essence

Oceanspray Flower Essence
Oceanspray is a native plant of the Pacific Northwest that grows on dry to moist open sites mostly at low to middle elevations and provides cover for small animals and birds. It is commonly called ironwood and was used by indigenous peoples for digging sticks, arrows, hooks, needles and nails. Also, they drank an infusion of the brown fruiting clusters for measles and chickenpox.
