October 2017: From Grief to Joyful Creativity

From Grief to Joyful Creativity

The as fog lays lightly over the land, leaves of deciduous trees and bushes are turning colors and creating a colorful carpet on the ground. Most of the garden harvest is in, dying bean and squash vines have been pulled to add to next year’s compost, and cover crops or mulch now dot the bare soils. It is a time for letting go.

Lately I’ve found myself feeling a lot of grief. Some of it I have an experience, a story to attach to it. Sometimes I don’t. June 2013 the husband of a friend of mine died. He chose to die instead of living into late stages of Alzheimer’s disease. Being by his side through the whole process required her to stay present with him, even those she was grieving, and to use creative means to support his VSED process. She also used her grief, determination and creativity to fulfill her promise to him of sharing their experience. I wrote a review of her book in the Suggested Reading section below. Fall is a good time to read about letting go, dying. And this book is well worth reading.

The last couple of week I’ve noticed my sinuses are slightly congested with the change in weather and using the furnace and fireplace for the first time since last winter. Another sign of fall.

This month I’m featuring four of our products most targeted to fall. The Lung Organ Energy Meridian Blend supports the physical, emotional, and mental functions of the Lung System. Clear The Air Aromatherapy and Flower Essence Mister opens the respiratory system during fall colds and is a wonderful air freshener. Oceanspray and Coltsfoot are key essences in both blends. All of these are on special through October.

This fall turn the grief of letting go into joyful creativity.

Oceanspray Flower Essence

We often go through life covering over deep grief, sorrow and heartache while acting as if everything is fine. The grief and heartache could be from loss of a loved one, loss of a dream of how your life will unfold, loss of trust in people you thought were trust-worthy or loss of innocence from trauma or abuse. This may be such an ingrained way of being that you don’t even realize you are doing it.

Oceanspray Flower Essence allows old grief, sorrow and heartache to surface and be released. It opens you to feel the compassion and protection of your Angels and Guides during the process of healing. And Oceanspray Flower Essence encourages living in your own jubilant Presence, which brings a genuine sense of calm and tranquility.

As Oceanspray Flower Essence says of itself:

I AM connection to your lighthearted, jubilant Presence during times of grief.

Coltsfoot Flower Essence

Coltsfoot Flower Essence instills physical and emotional vitality when you are exhausted and weary from grief or challenging situations. It relieves hesitations to fully engage in life and new adventures. It relieves old self-imposed limitations to your creativity, and encourages deeply focused joyful activity. The energy of Coltsfoot is invigorating and exuberant yet calm, and helps you to access multi-dimensional guidance on how to use this renewed level of energy.

As Coltsfoot Flower Essence says of itself:

I AM focused exuberance and vitality for new adventures and challenging situations.

Metal Element (Air): Lung Organ Energy Meridian Essence Blend

The season of the metal element is fall and the colors are white/grey. The yin meridian of the metal element is lung. It is most active from 3am to 5am. The lungs are the way we access spiritual energies through breathing, prana.

Symptoms: Use Lung Organ Energy Meridian (OEM) Essence Blend when you frequently experience shallow breathing, lung congestion, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma or colds. Sadness, grief, loss, rejection, abandonment, depression, longing and sense of emptiness are emotional symptoms of Lung imbalance that may lead structurally to a contracted, caved-in chest. A person with Lung System imbalance often has difficulty breathing in the energy of life – prana – and exhaling to fully engage life.

Action: The Lung OEM Blend works through the energy circuits that surround the physical lungs and the meridian that feeds spiritual energy to them. This blend aligns you with the rhythmic order of life, breath. It supports flow through the peripheral nervous system as you engage the ebb and flow of life and loss with ease. The Lung Organ Blend supports you during low emotional moments and inspires you to fully engage life. Structurally, it encourages your chest to expand as, emotionally, you experience acceptance for your unique self. You begin to recognize your brilliance, your self worth and to share your true self with joy. For more information about the Lung Organ Energy Meridian Blend, the flower and tree essences in it, and the drusy quartz, fire agate, Lemurian seed crystal, moldavite, peridot, opaque pink calcite and rhodochrosite crystals that energetically charged it, click on the picture.

Book suggestion:

Choosing To Die By Phyllis Shacter

Phyllis bares her heart to share the journey she and her husband went through for his voluntary death. He was entering the later stages of Alzheimer’s disease and didn’t want to live like that. He wanted to die consciously, aware of his process. She shares his coming to the decision to VSED (voluntary stop eating and drinking), his dying process and her personal process during this.

Heartfully written, this love story is also a resource book of options for anyone facing a degenerative disease. In the death-denying culture we live in, this slim book of 6 chapters plus helpful appendices is bold and courageous.
