I hope that this email finds you all well. We are enjoying some beautiful spring days here on Lummi Island, and today I got a moment to step away from the hustle and bustle to enjoy the gardens here at Tree Frog Farm. A visitor called and was interested in learning more about our essences. I was happy to answer any questions and give a tour through the spring blooms here at Tree Frog. When I meet new people, I can sometimes get quite nervous, and my brain feels like it is malfunctioning. Things that I know, like names and other common knowledge to my brain will just blank out. There were several plants that I needed to double-check for reference, and I was feeling like I was about to break out in a sweat over it! I eventually felt more at ease, making communication easier.
As we toured the labyrinth gardens identifying different plants, I realized that between my home garden, the garden at our children’s school, and Tree Frogs garden, I haven’t been spending nearly enough time connecting to the land here, and I miss it! With flower essence season nearly in full bloom, and having the undertow of loss and sorrow still lingering just below the surface of my being, I suddenly felt like this moment was exactly what I needed to spark this turn of direction necessary for my well-being and that the garden here has been beckoning me to share my self with the land here, and in return the land would be more than willing to fill my cup and share with me too!
